Hotshot firefighters are known for their incredible fitness and have the most physically demanding job of any of the wildfire divisions. According to Black Mountain Hotshot superintendent Matt Hoggard, "We don't have a lot of time to make people strong. It's up to them to come in fit. Fitness needs to be part of their lifestyle."
